  • 8th Grade Curiosity Science: Important Announcement!
Tomorrow, Thursday June 19th, is PAPER ROLLER COASTER NIGHT at Clarke! Curiosity students should be in the Clarke cafeteria by 6:55PM to prepare their booth for a 7:00PM opening. From 7PM to 8PM, parents, siblings, relatives, and friends will enter the cafeteria to view the coasters and learn about their designs and the physics that controls the movement of the coaster. It promises to be a very exciting evening for everyone!

If for some reason a student is NOT able to attend, please have a parent send Mr. Lawrence a quick note to let him know. His email address is dlawrence@sch.ci.lexington.ma.us.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Recent Math 1 Announcements

  • Math Final Exam Preparation
We will have our Math 1 final on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

Practice tests are available on the ALEKS Assignments tab. In addition, I have uploaded PDFs of the practice tests on to the Final Exam page on this website.

Today (Monday 6/16) is the last day that you can work on ALEKS topics! Your subscription to ALEKS will expire at 11:59PM tonight. I am working to try to get your subscription extended for another week, but for now, the deadline for all ALEKS topics is 11:59PM tonight. Good luck!

  • Math HW, Monday 6/2
Tomorrow (Tuesday 6/3) is our EF Exponential Functions Unit Test. See yesterday's math announcement for a copy of the study guide and an answer key.

For additional practice, I suggest doing the following:
    • Complete all the ALEKS topics in 14 EF Exponential Functions (the "Green" slice for most of you)

Note: there is a topic in ALEKS that has you calculate "compound interest". You will only be responsible for being able to calculate interest compounded "yearly", not quarterly or monthly. That is an advanced application that I will cover later this week, but will NOT be on the test.

    • Use the ALEKS assignment EF Exponential Functions Practice to test yourself -- retake any questions you missed, and keep practicing with this assignment until you feel successful!

    • Review old problems from the packets, and try testing yourself with some of the ACE questions in the back. I would stick primarily with the "Application" questions, as they are the most like the questions that will be on tomorrow's quiz.
